a little encouragement today

Dear Reader,

This is the time of year when the world outside starts wintering. If I read another instagram post telling me I should be slowing down I might scream.

Because our world is not generally set up for wintering. The holiday season, a ramping up over autumn, year end in organisations, things to be finished by the end of 2024.

Many of my clients are feeling overwhelmed. In my charity job there is a big last minute Christmas appeal being created. Sales targets are being set for next year. Lots of people are ending 2024 with not much in the tank.

On top of all that you might be looking back and wondering where the year went. What about those great plans you had back in January 2024?

I'm so excited to be running Design Your Year, my intention setting community again for 2025.

It has honestly changed my life. This year I made progress on all my intentions and goals even in the midst of some personal life madness.

Sure, at times I forgot all about them.

I procrastinated, I got overwhelmed, I felt scared and avoided things.

And then, I course corrected, got support from others, remembered what on earth was actually important to me, and step by tiny step I've made it.

The thing I'm most proud of - finally making an appointment to see a financial advisor after procrastinating about it for 5 f*cking years. And guess what, it wasn't as scary as my gremlins had been telling me. But, I honestly don't think I would have done it without this community.

Let me end with a little encouragement, Reader.

December isn't even here yet. Is there something you really wanted to make progress on in 2024, but things got in the way? Maybe it was overwhelm from your competing priorities, or procrastination and convenient distractions. Or maybe it was a lack of belief, fear of failure, or maybe like me and my future finances you were just too scared to look at it.

Today, I want to invite you to take one tiny step out of your comfort zone. What's the smallest thing you could do towards what you want? Do that.

You never know where it might take you.

With love,

~ Rosie Farrer

Heyooo Reader, This week's email is about what happens when you learn to better manage your inner critic. This time last week, I was on the way to host the networking event I run once a month for women in business. It was fabulous, full of uplifting, supportive, awesome connections - as it always is. But, that's not what this email is about. Picture this: I'm standing there, on the very busy overground train, drinking my tea and reading my book, surrounded by humans. The train stops, and more...

Hey friend, In my job I spend a lot of time connecting with people, but often through a screen. I'm sure it's the same for many of you These days I find that when I'm called to show up in person I often don't look forward to it. The voices that go through my brain tell me things like: "it's a lot of time wasted traveling" "think of all the tasks you could tick off your to do list" (things like writing this newsletter at 10am when I normally do rather than at 6.22pm before I sign off from the...

Hey friend, It's sunny in the UK. That's all anyone has been talking about this week. That and absolute s*it show going on in global politics. How? Why? Can we turn it all off and back on again? How do you get some space from it all Reader? Mine is definitely through movement in nature. Today (I'm doing my work from the trail, including writing this email to youuuuu. Team photo. I cannot get Pingu to stay still 😂 And by work...I mean the big picture stuff. One of my things this year is to do...
