How's your week been Reader? This week I’ve had a bumper week of coaching, 9 wonderful clients exploring things like: how to lead through a restructure, what they want the next 5-10 years of their career to look like, how to approach a difficult conversation that’s keeping them up at night. When I looked at my week on Monday I thought I might feel a bit drained by Friday, but it’s has the opposite effect. I feel energised, and in love with my work. What a privilege it is to support such thoughtful, badass leaders who are making change happen in their world. And I know (because they told me!) that each of them left feeling like they had new ideas, a cheerleader in their corner, and were more confident and relaxed about their next steps. As part of these conversations I’ve been sharing lots of tools and resources, and I wanted to share some of my faves with you: 1. Comfort, stretch, panic – a really useful framework for thinking about how we grow and change. To grow you need to identify an action that is big enough to move you into your stretch zone but not into your panic zone. If something feels overwhelming the chances are it’s in your panic zone, so figure out how to make it smaller and move it back into your stretch zone. Here’s a link to read more. 2. How are you holding yourself back? This is the saboteurs assessment that I send clients to help them understand just that. Usually results in a few ‘aha’ moments. 4. A friend shared this article about how you can 'become lucky' and I've been thinking about how this is what coaching helps you to do ever since. 5. I started a wild & fee substack. I have no idea how to use it yet, but I’m sharing it for some accountability that I will figure it out and start posting things over the next few weeks. It would motivate me if you come and follow along. Would love to hear which of these you enjoy! ~Rosie Farrer |
Hi lovely Reader, I keep having different versions of the same conversation lately: The world is a lot. I can’t watch the news. They started a war without a plan. How do we respond to the Epstein files. How did we get here. What can we do about it alllllll? And then I’ll catch a daffodil swaying in the wind, or drink a delicious coffee, or get the sweetest mother’s day card 2 days early because my son can’t sleep for excitement at me seeing it, or nearly wet myself laughing in a yoga class,...
Hello Reader, I don't know about you but January is absolutely kicking my ass this year. It's always a busy time for me, but this year I thought I'd got a handle on it. (I had not) Because sometimes life just happens. You can't control it and you have to ride with it, rather than rail against it. For me, that has meant reprioritising so I can pick up the work of one of my team members while they are off dealing with a bereavement. And honestly, I'm really glad I'm able to do that, to give...
